Halibut Casserole Ingredients
- 450 g/1 lb halibut
- 2 bay leaves
- 1⁄2 onion, sliced
- 25 g/1 oz butter
- 4 tablespoons plain flour
- 400 ml/14 fl oz milk
- 225 g/8 oz Cheddar cheese, grated
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Halibut Casserole Recipe
Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4.
Steam the halibut, bay leaves and onion for 30 minutes.
Prepare a white sauce by combining the butter, flour, milk, salt and pepper
Break the halibut into bite-size pieces, and layer in a large casserole dish with the cheese and white sauce. Cover and bake in the oven for 35 minutes. Serve hot.
